FAQs


 Q.1 Why is the light designed to use two types of batteries (and which one lasts longer)?

The light has a dual battery system that runs both a Li-Ion battery and dry cell alkaline battery, for the convenience of using the light anytime, especially when there is none or limited access to a recharging system. More importantly, it serves to extend the runtime of the light. The Li-Ion battery lasts longer than the dry cell alkaline battery.


Q.2 Why does this light use AAA batteries and not AA batteries?

The light uses AAA batteries specifically for the purpose of design, as it makes the size smaller and more portable. This is the first light launched in Hong Kong, the manufacturer always welcomes comment and may be changed in the second generation of this light.


Q.3 What is the hook panel used for?

The hook panel serves as a hanger for items. It increases the light’s utility, customers can hang several items on it depending on where the light is used – entrance, kitchen, dresser etc. – provided the items are within the maximum loading capacity of the hook panel.


Q.4 Can the embedded magnet be attached to any metal surface?

The light is embedded with magnet in the base which only sticks to ferromagnetic metals. However, for enhanced applicability, the light comes with an adhesive strip pad accessory that allows the embedded magnet attach on any surface.


Q.5 How to use the double – sided adhesive tape?

The double-sided adhesive tape helps stick the hook panel on various clean surfaces. Carefully peel off the film coating on one side of the adhesive tape and place it on the back of the hook panel, then peel off the second film coating and stick it to the desired surface. Press the panel firmly to the surface to ensure it bonds well. Allow the panel to bond for 24 hours before fixing the light to it or hanging items on the hooks.


Q.6 How long do the double-sided tapes last?

The adhesive tapes lasts for a long tine provided it is well placed on a clean surface and items place on the hooks fall within the recommended maximum load. However, we recommend replacing the hook tape after three months.


Q.7 What is the best way to install suction cups?

The suction cups are best installed on mirror-like smooth and dust-free surfaces. Carefully follow these steps below for best experience:


 i. Clean the surface for mounting the suction cups thoroughly with a damp, clean cloth; as the suction cups will not stick on dirt or dust

ii. Rinse the back of the suction cups with warm water to remove any residual dust that may be on the edges of the cups, then dry it thoroughly with towel or allow it to air dry

iii. Wet the tip of your finger and rub your finger over the inside of the edge of the cup, to help it create a seal

iv. Gently press the suction cup against surface it is to be mounted, hold the cup in place for 15 seconds

v.  Slowly release the suction cup and it will build a vacuum and hold fast

vi. Ensure the surface for placing the suction cups is smooth, as in a mirror to avoid dropping

 

Q.8 How long can the suction cups be used?

If carefully installed, the suction cups can be used for a long time without any accidental drop. However, we recommend it is re-installed every 3 months for best service and ensure its grip on the surface is not weakened.


Q.9 What is the wood thickness when attaching the hook with provided screws?

When attaching the hook panel with screws ensure the wood is thick enough and best exceeding 4mm of the screws. The appropriate thickness is any thickness that allows the screw attached without it coming out on the opposite side. 


Q.10 What is the maximum loading for a hook?

The maximum loading for a hook is 300g and the whole panel should carry a maximum load of 1kg at a time.


Q11. Is the light waterproof?

The light is not waterproof, so we recommend not using the light in wet and humid environments to ensure proper functioning.


Q12. Can we use the light when charging?

While the light can be turned when it is charging, we encourage every user not to do so. If you need to use the light unplug the charger before using it. If the battery level is low, use dry cell alkaline batteries.


Q13. How long can we use the light solely by using the recharged battery? Will the light become dimmer when using?

When using only li-ion battery, the light can run for 2-3 hours on high brightness mode   and 17-18 hours on saving mode. The lumen remains constant over the runtime   of the light on li-ion battery


Q14. How long can we use the light solely by using the AAA battery? Will the light become dimmer when using?

The runtime of the light on dry cell alkaline batteries vary, depending on the   battery manufacturer and capacity. We recommend high quality dry cell   alkaline batteries for the light. Regardless of the battery brand and   capacity, the brightness of the light will become dimmer as the battery runs   out. This is a feature of dry cell batteries and does not mean the light is   malfunctioning.


Q15. How long can we use the light solely by using both battery together?

Using both batteries together extends the runtime of the light. On high brightness mode,  it is extended to 3.5-4.5 hours and on saving mode, it is extended to 18.5-19.5 hours with a steady brightness.


Q16. Can we keep the AAA battery inside forever?

The AAA batteries should not be left in the battery compartment for a long time. When the light is not in use, take the batteries out. If left in the compartment for a long time, the batteries may damage and damage some of the component of the light.


Q17. How many modes of the light can we use?

The light has four modes that makes it suitable for various uses and purposes. You can select the high brightness mode, or medium brightness or the low brightness and the saving brightness mode, which is suitable for a night light.


Q18. Does the light have a memory function?

The light has an innovative memory function that brings it back on to a preset brightness level only in the sensor mode. Therefore, if the saving brightness mode is preset before switching the light to sensor mode, whenever the sensor detects movement within the sensor range, it comes on in the saving brightness mode.


Q19. How to activate and deactivate sensor of the light?

To activate the sensor, turn on the light and select a preferred brightness mode, then press and hold the power button. The red indicator light flashes thrice, indicating sensor is activated. To deactivate the sensor, press the power button once, and the red indicator light flashes twice, indicating sensor has been deactivated.


Q.20 Can the light be used forever?

The light is built durable to last for a long time but it cannot last forever. It is best to replace the unit after three years to ensure no component in the light gets faulty and cause damage because of wears and tears resulting from overdue use.


Q.21 What are the differences for using this light when compared with other light?

This is a utility light kit that offers additional use to the customer asides lighting. It can be used to hold items at several areas where it is used. It also has aesthetic effect and can beautify the wall where it placed. Most importantly, other lights do not combine rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries in one light. This light combines both and offers users a flexibility of choice – for people who would prefer non-rechargeable batteries. The light also has a sensor memory function which is not present in other sensor lights.


Q22. Is Li-ion dangerous?

Li-ion rechargeable batteries are not dangerous when used carefully according to the professional cautions and notices stipulated in the user instruction manual. It is important to adhere to every instruction strictly, as there may be damage to the light from the li-ion battery if it not properly used.
